Welcome to Crouched Friars

Ideally located in the heart of Colchester, Essex, Crouched Friars is just a one-minute stroll from the town centre shops and amenities.

Our sympathetically restored part Grade II listed home supports a small community of 55 residents and our priority is in delivering care that maintains the dignity and individuality of each person. We provide both physical and mental stimulation for those with residential and dementia needs, including our own dementia care wing; Colne Lodge.

The facilities at Crouched Friars have been tastefully adapted to provide easy access for those with limited mobility, providing suitable wheelchair access along with a lift to all floors. All of our bedrooms have top of the range amenities to make sure residents are comfortable, including TV points, en-suite facilities and comfortable furnishings.

Visits from family and friends are heartily encouraged, with guests able to take advantage of our homely communal areas and our beautiful landscaped gardens.

Whilst providing high-quality care is at the heart of what we do, it’s the personal and considerate delivery that makes life at Crouched Friars special.
