As we welcome the spring sunshine, here at Crouched Friars Residential Home we are excited to announce we too can begin reuniting loved ones back to our home by following our safe visit guidelines.
Following the recent Government announcement, we are now allowing every one of our residents to have the opportunity to appoint one family or friend to see and to make repeated visits to our home using our safe visit guidelines.
Visits that are taking place outside, we are allowing two individuals, but social distancing must be adhered to at all times. On the occasion where visits are taking place indoors in our COVID-secure visiting area, we can only allow one designated loved one indoors but will allow two visitors for behind the screen visits.
Since January, most of our staff and all residents received their first vaccination against COVID-19 and to ensure the utmost safety for everyone, we are following careful procedures and maintaining social distancing during visits to ensure it is COVID-secure for visitors and residents.
Prior to entering our home, we have provided some updates and changes to our visit guidelines that you must know and follow before visiting.
1. All visits are by appointment only
If you wish to visit a loved one here at Crouched Friars Residential Home, you must prebook an appointment with our friendly staff on 01206 572647 or homemanager@crouchedfriars.co.uk
Visiting can take place either in our dedicated COVID-secure visiting area behind the screen or if weather permits, you can sit outside and soak up the spring sunshine in our garden. Nominated visitors can enter the building and spend time with their loved ones in their bedroom.
2. Visits are still socially distanced
As many of our staff and residents are still awaiting their second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, we are asking relatives to still maintain a social distance during visits.
Hand holding is allowed but only in the case when visitors have completed a COVID test before entry, wearing the right PPE or sitting outdoors in our garden.
3. Testing is required prior to entering our home
Testing is only required if visitors decide to visit in the bedroom and will be asked by a member of staff to do a COVID test. Every visitor has the choice to say no to a test but in this circumstance, we would legally not be allowed to let visitors enter the home.
If you wish to have your visit in the bedroom, you must inform us when pre-booking your visit so we can administer you with a test on the day of your visit. When visiting, please arrive at your allocated time slots so tests can be carried out by a trained member of staff. You may have to return back to your car or wait outside for 30 minutes until tests results come back.
If visitors wish to only visit in our garden, a test is then not required. In the case of an outbreak, all visits will be suspended immediately.
