Vaccinations to loved one’s visits, here’s what activities we’ve been up to

Despite the first few months of 2021 being challenging, we have been keeping very busy with lots of activities at Crouched Friars Residential Home.

Due to restrictions at the beginning of the year, our care staff at Crouched Friars have continued to go above and beyond to ensure our residents remain happy and healthy.

As a home that promotes an active lifestyle, we have been enjoying a number of activities and with the welcome of the Spring sunshine, we have been able to spend more time in our gardens and having frequent visits.

Vaccinations

Marking a crucial milestone in the fight against the pandemic, we are overjoyed that here at Crouched Friars, residents and staff have received both doses of their COVID-19 vaccinations. You can read all about our second round of vaccinations here.

Enjoying the garden

As the days get longer and the temperate getting warmer, we have been able to be spending lots of time outside enjoying our beautiful garden.

In April, we welcomed our new activities coordinator, Rhian, who celebrated the day by organising an exciting ball game in our garden with music for all our residents to get involved in.

We look forward to seeing what other fun activities Rhian has planned for our residents!

Tea parties

Recently, our housekeeper, Sue, very kindly donated a beautiful tea set to our home which allowed us to honour Her Majesty the Queen’s 95th birthday in true elegance and to celebrate National Tea Day by holding our very own tea party.

Arts & Crafts Activities

There is nothing we love more than getting our hands busy and here at Crouched Friars Residential Home, we have been doing lots of arts and crafts including making our very own Easter bonnets.

During our craft sessions, we have found artsy tasks to be a great opportunity for socialising with others. There’s nothing better than discussing your art or taking inspiration!

Visits

Alongside our second vaccinations and easing government restrictions we have been allowed us to reopen our doors to allow our residents and their loved ones to reunite.

With restrictions now allowing two named visitors to make repeated visits to our home, head to our other blog here to learn about visiting guidance and how to arrange your visit.

We have loved being able to welcome loved ones back into our home and we can’t wait to see more of you very soon!

From all of us at Crouched Friars, we wanted to thank you all so much for your patience and understanding in these challenging times, and we very much look forward to welcoming you back to our home.

We are still welcoming new residents and has clear policies and procedures in place to be able to do this safely.
